Show Local Nurses Love During National Nurses Week

Today, May 6, starts National Nurses Week! With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, nurses around the world have been working long hours and risking their safety to make sure others get the care they need. Here are some things that you can do this week to show some much-deserved love to nurses in your community.

Write Them A Letter

Snail mail may be old school nowadays, but it is still very thoughtful. If you know a nurse, write them a letter telling them how much you appreciate them and admire their hard work. You could even include a gift card to a local take-out restaurant so they can treat themselves on their break. Mail this letter to their address this week to make them smile.

Donate to Local Hospitals

While this doesn’t show love directly to the nurse, it will benefit their place of work. Donating funds or supplies to make sure healthcare works have the protection that they need is a gift in itself. N95 face masks are especially useful at this time.

Send Them a Subscription Box

In the days of social distancing, face-to-face meetings are currently frowned upon. So, sending a nurse a subscription box with some cool gifts could be an easy way to show them your appreciation for National Nurses Week! Subscription boxed like FabFitFunTry The WorldBirchbox and Winc Wine Club all offer their boxes as gifts that you can send. Find out what your nurse friend is interested in, and send them a subscription box tailored to their interests!
