Southern Shakespeare is a year-round education program that culminates in our annual Spring Festival. This year, the Southern Shakespeare Festival will start at 5:30 pm on Friday, April 15th, at 5:30 pm on Saturday, April 16th, and at 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 17th. There will be a children’s area with face-painting and other activities for the young ones, performances by theater groups such as Mickee Faust and Theater With a Mission, and a special presentation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest by our junior company, The Bardlings. Additionally, look for fencing demonstrations from the Society for Creative Anachronism, Theatre with a Mission, and a special guest appearance by The Sonnet Man, with his hip-hop renderings of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
