Bingeing Netflix with your boo is cool, but February 13 is for the girls. Looking for movies to marathon with your best gal friends? Here are six films that encourage you to live, laugh, love and girlboss.
- “10 Things I Hate About You”; watch on Disney+
This 90s love story might be based on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” but there’s nothing stuffy about this one. Let Heath Ledger serenade you and your besties as a Valentine’s Day treat.
2. “He’s All That”; watch on Netflix
The reviews aren’t great but hear us out: this gender-swapped remix of “She’s All That” is actually worth a watch. It features social media influencer Addison Rae in a wholesome love story that is cute, funny and just the right amount of cheesy for a girl’s night.
3. “Girls Trip”; watch on Hulu
Who says Galentine’s Day movies need to be about romance? Follow these four best friends (also called the Flossy Posse) in this fun road-trip comedy with Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith.
4. “Pitch Perfect”; watch on Hulu
Are you and your gals really best friends if you don’t do a capella together? Yes, but you can still let Anna Kendrick and her gang do it for you.
5. “Legally Blonde”; watch on Amazon
No one does girlbossing like Elle Woods. If you need a refresher on how to do the bend and snap and why you don’t need to get back with your boring ex-boyfriend, now is the perfect time.
6. “Thelma & Louise”; watch on Hulu
OK, so this one doesn’t exactly have a happy ending. Galentine’s Day is about friendship, though, and Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis are the epitome of ride-or-die in this film.
Regardless of which movie(s) you choose, enjoy the time celebrating the amazing women in your life!
