Gorgeous Poolside Cocktails To Celebrate the Weekend

By Morgan Hill

This weekend is Mother’s Day! What better way to celebrate than celebrating with family and friends  by the pool with a fun and refreshing cocktail.  Grab your  lounge chair  and celebrate by the pool and whip up one of our favorite aesthetically pleasing drinks.

Mermaid Water Cocktail

If you grew up near the coast, acting like a mermaid (or merman) was probably a game you played in the pool or the ocean when you were little. As an adult, we know that’s unrealistic, but try this mermaid water cocktail to keep the dream alive!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
  • 2 oz coconut rum
  • 6 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • Blue curacao
  • A splash of pineapple juice
  • A lime wedge for garnish

Instructions:

Mix rum, pineapple juice, and lime juice in a pitcher (multiply the amounts for more) or in a glass with ice. Top off drink with extra pineapple juice. Add a splash of blue curacao to give the drink its blue-green color. Add lime slices for garnish. For an extra satisfying look, add an umbrella or a summer patterned paper straw!

Glow Water

For a detox drink with a kick, try one of these three variations that will leave you glowing with a pep in your step.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cans of seltzer water
  • Cucumber Mint: 1 cucumber, cut into slices; 3 sprigs mint; 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Strawberry Lime: 3 strawberries, halved; 1 lime, thinly sliced

Summer Sunrise Mocktail

Summer sunrises are special –it’s not super hot or muggy yet, and if you catch it right, the sky will turn beautiful oranges, yellows and pinks. If waking up for the sunrise isn’t your idea of the perfect summer morning, try this mocktail instead!

Ingredients:

  • Orange juice
  • Sugar free lemonade
  • Grenadine
  • Orange slices

Instructions:

Cut orange into slices in preparation to garnish your cup. Fill glass ⅓ of way with orange juice. Add lemonade to fill glass, leaving a small space for grenadine. Pour a small amount of grenadine into a shot glass, then slowly pour into the main glass. The grenadine should sink to the bottom to form a red layer. Add a slice of orange to the side and serve!
