The Gainesville Fear Garden and the Gainesville Oddities Market have teamed up to host this fear-meets-oddities event: Goth Night at the Fear Garden. If you enjoy all things odd, weird, scary and haunted, this event is for you.

Goth Night at the Fear Garden is Saturday, July 6 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Gainesville Gear Garden, located at 622 SE 2nd St. Admission and parking is free!

What to expect

Visitors will get to experience the Fear Garden, enjoy a bite to eat from the food trucks, jam out to a live DJ and, of course, browse the offerings of over 30 oddity vendors! Oddities will include taxidermy, bones, bugs, crystals, vintage clothing, Halloween items and more.

The Gainesville Fear Garden

The Gainesville Fear Garden is a “half horror-themed beer and wine garden, half experimental haunted house laboratory,” according to their website. It is also a psychology lab, as the venue is a “laboratory for the development of novel methods for the efficient elicitation of terror.”

Additionally, the Gainesville Fear Garden investigates interesting psychological topics. The venue was recently involved in researching if fear brings people closer together, according to their Facebook.

They are open for select events – like Emo Karaoke Night and other haunting events – throughout the year.

The Gainesville Oddities Market

Organizers Matthew and Stephanie Gray hosted the first-ever Gainesville Oddities Market in April. Vendors showcased and sold oddities including skulls, taxidermy and everything in between. It was such a hit, they brought it back in May to celebrate the Day of the Dead. This month, it is back for the Goth Night event at the Gainesville Fear Garden.

If you love all things weird and quirky, mark your calendars for Goth Night July 6!
