International Women’s Day: Finding Peace and Balance with Work, Family and Fitness

Between work, family and everything else on your schedule, it may feel like there are just not enough hours in the day to fit in fitness time. Make exercise a part of your daily routine by following these tips so you can feel more fit and organized.

Plan it out the night before

No one knows your schedule better than you do. Right before you go to sleep, think of your schedule and look for where you can fit in 30 minutes to an hour of exercise.

Scheduling your day the night before helps to make sure you have time to check everything off your to-do list. Exercise, work and family time can all fit on a balanced checklist if you plan it out right.

Join a local group fitness class

If you sign up for an early morning fitness class and don’t show up, you get charged. Use this as motivation. Sign up for a class, and incorporate it into your weekly regimen either before or after work. There is time in the day if you commit and plan it out right.

Wake up 30 minutes earlier

Going for a run or doing a HIIT set should only take 30 minutes to an hour. If you set your alarm ahead, you can squeeze in some squats and quick cardio to kick start your day.

Get your workout out of the way so you have the rest of the day to get your work done and spend time with your family.

#FitFam

Instead of taking a family field trip to the movies, walk to the park, go rock climbing or sign up for a family yoga class. Make the most of your weekends by being active while spending time with your family.

Make exercise a priority

If being active and taking care of your health is something that is important to you, then you will find time in the day for it. Whether you have to wake up earlier or sacrifice some Netflix binging, you can always find a way to fit fitness into your daily life.
