The Northern Lights

The Delta College Planetarium in Michigan wants you to learn more about the Northern Lights! On January 21, you can virtually join Mike Murray, Astronomer and Planetarium Manager, to explore the beautiful phenomenon called the “Aurora Borealis.”

“As sunspot numbers increase, solar storm activity is on the rise and that improves the chances of seeing the spectacle known as the ‘Aurora Borealis,'” according to the planetarium’s website. During this virtual event, you will also learn more about the folklore of the Northern Lights and how to observe them!

This event is free and can be accessed by visiting the Delta College Planetarium’s Facebook page. It will also be recorded!
