With quarantine and social distancing in full swing and no clear sign as to when it will really end, Floridians are getting creative in the ways we can get outside. The most recent development comes to us courtesy of the Ocala Drive-In movie theater. While most other movie theaters in the country are currently shut down, the Ocala Drive-In is one of the few left open and airing new releases in the entire United States.

The Ocala Drive-In movie theater is currently offering  “Resistance” starring Jesse Eisenberg, “Swallow” starring Haley Bennett, “Trolls World Tour” and the classic film “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.” For the full schedule of films and showtimes, click here!

Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children ages 5 and under. No outside food is allowed into the Drive-In movie theater. They keep their ticket prices low by selling concessions to guests, and if outside food is brought in you will be asked to leave.

Due to COVID-19, the theater has taken safety precautions to ensure their guests’ safety. These include keeping each car a safe distance from other cars, meaning that if you and friends or family come in two separate cars, you may not park next to each other, but instead will need to social distance, and each car must have at least two passengers. No single-person vehicles are allowed to take up one of the very limited parking spaces available, but you may park in their parking lot and sit in the limited area patio to watch the films if visiting alone.

Check out their website for more information on how the theater is responding to COVID-19.
