One-Way Aisles Are No Longer Required in Most Publix Stores

If you have shopped at Publix in the last few months, you have experienced the one-way aisles that were implemented to encourage social distancing in the stores. As of this week, most Publix locations can do away with this change and go back to normal aisle shopping.

Before, each aisle had floor stickers to direct the flow of traffic in and out of each aisle. This prevented clusters of people shopping in one aisle, and it was a way to make sure shoppers were social distancing. Even though the one-way aisle requirement has been lifted, other safety requirements like wearing a face covering and staying six feet away from other shoppers still applies.

The only Publix locations that are still requiring the one-way aisles are those in Charleston, South Carolina, and Miami-Dade and Broward counties in Florida, according to WCJB TV 20 News.
