Part of Ichetucknee Springs Will Be Off-Limits Come This Spring

Ichetucknee Springs

By May 2021, the upper portion of the river that runs through Ichetucknee Springs State Park will be off-limits to tubers.

The upper part of the river will still be open to paddlers, as reported by WCJB TV20 news. The tubers tend to cause a problem for underwater vegetation in this section of the river, and experts think that the Ichetucknee Springs vegetation will be able to recover if given the chance.

Because of this change, more tubers would be allowed to occupy the lower portion of the river in the park.
