Some Gainesville City Pools Have Reopened!

By Amanda Roland

Two Gainesville City Pools will reopen today as the city starts a phased reopening of all pools. The pools will only be open for swimming laps, no sunbathing or splashing allowed.

The two pools that are reopening are H. Spurgeon Cherry (Westside) Pool and Dwight H. Hunter (Northeast) Pool. Swimmers are required to register for a 1-hour time slot the day before their desired swim day. This will ensure safety and social distancing for all guests.

Gainesville City Pools staff will also require guests to wear a face mask upon arrival to the pool, and you must pass a temperature screening to enter into the pool, according to the City of Gainesville. You can find the numbers to register for a time slot below!
