Virtual Veterans Day Celebration

The Alachua County Community Support Services’ Veteran Services Division and the Alachua County Communications Office have teamed up to create a virtual Veterans Day celebration video for the community.

This video will honor the veterans’ community in Alachua County, and it will premiere on Wednesday, November 11 at 10 a.m. on Cox Cable 12. You can also watch it on the County’s Video on Demand website, and the County’s Facebook page.

In the program, enjoy things like interviews with local veterans and a look at past Veterans Day celebrations. “All are encouraged to watch and honor our American heroes, who served our great nation,” said Alachua County Veteran Services Director Kim Davis in a news release.

Due to COVID-19, the annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Veterans Memorial Park is canceled this year. The county has created the virtual video event to honor veterans in a safe way.
