Today, June 3, Governor Ron DeSantis announced in a press conference that the state of Florida is ready to move on to Phase 2 of the reopening process starting this week on Friday, June 5.

In Phase 2, bars will be able to open to 50% capacity indoors and full capacity outside. Movie theaters, bowling alleys, concert houses and arcades also can open to 50% capacity. Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will not be proceeding to Phase 2 of the reopening process until further notice.

Retail stores and gyms may operate at full capacity as long as proper social distancing is taken into account, as well as proper sanitization.

The state also urges people who are over 65 years of age or those with underlying medical conditions to continue avoiding large crowds, and Floridians are encouraged to avoid congregating in groups any larger than 50.
